Would you like to connect kids in your life with nature in the city? Celebrate National Get Outdoors Day on Saturday with the Urbia Adventure League at the Green Hairstreak Corridor.

Unlike traditional guided tours, Urbia offers seasonal, self-guided, family adventures-by-mail that guide you through special natural areas of the city on your own time.

Urbia adventures are an engaging invitation to visit those unknown highlighted green areas on the Nature in the City map.

Subscriptions to the Urbia Adventure League will benefit Nature in the City!

This Saturday, families are invited to try out the first edition of Urbia, called "Islands in the Sky," for free (a two hour experience: bring a snack!). Nature in the City Steering Committee member, Damien Raffa, will have a table set up at the bottom of the 16th Avenue tiled steps in the Inner Sunset from 10 - 2 pm. Drop by any time and say hello!

Crissy Field Center Relocation

The Crissy Field Center is going to be relocated to a temporary building during the Doyle Drive replacement! The proposed project includes a 7,200 square foot relocatable modular "green" building with classrooms, a multi-purpose room, snack bar, and visitor information area. After the Doyle Drive construction is complete, 3 - 5 years from now, the building will be removed, the site restored, and the Crissy Field Center will return to its current building at 603 Mason Street. The National Park Service is soliciting feedback from the public on this project.
