ALL BEACHES NOW OPEN
THE FISHING BAN HAS BEEN LIFTED
If oil does wash up onto open beaches, avoid contact. Do not walk or handle contaminated objects. If skin does contact with oil, wash immediately with soap and water or a non-solvent skin cleanser. In the case of eye contact, flush with plenty of water for 15 minutes or until irritation subsides. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. Avoid tracking oil into your vehicle, home or other such areas. Children may also be exposed by playing in contaminated sand or soil. It is strongly suggested to keep pets out of the water to protect them from contact with contaminated water.
Water along the beaches remains affected by the spill.

From the Chief of Natural Resources:
"No one
should be picking up live or dead oiled birds, but rather report them
to the 877 number
(especially the live ones). It is not safe for
people to come in contact with the oil andthere are large
numbers
of trained teams in the field retrieving them, following chain of custody requirements for
evidence."
From Dan Murphy, SF Conservation Committee, Golden Gate Audubon:
This was forwarded to me from Audubon Canyon Ranch.
If you're out, do document any impacts you observe and forward them to NOAA and Save the Bay.
“Our contacts at NOAA and other agencies are working to gather any damage information people
are seeing on the ground- and get any info documented with photos and video. They are concerned
about oyster and eelgrass impacts in addition to other fish and wildlife impacts. Please contact
Natalie Cosentino-Manning at the NOAA Restoration Center if you have information or pictures-
Natalie.c-manning@noaa.gov, please cc mlatta@savesfbay.org.”
