Dig a little deeper

We design, build, and maintain climate-stabilizing gardens alive with butterflies and songbirds.

2023 Ryan Tachibana, Gardening Manager, says: “We love helping connect our clients to nature and increasing the sustainability and habitat value of their gardens. As we know, more plants in the ground mean less CO2 in the atmosphere, more resources for our local wildlife, and better human health.”

In addition to design, installation, ongoing maintenance, and one-time services (read more below), we offer these garden consultation packages:

  • Garden Consultation - in person (1 hour) = $250
In-person garden consultation. This is ideal for those looking to update, redesign, or refresh their gardens. Up to 1 hour. Follow-up recap email included.

  • Garden Consultation - virtual (1 hour) - $200
Virtual consultation for those seeking habitat gardening guidance and resources for public and private gardens. Up to 1 hour. No follow-up services are included.

Also, for the foodies—our consultations can include advice on adding vegetables, fruits, and native edibles to add more life to your wild garden.

You too can have a garden on the wild side!

Whether your space is small or large, and whether you’ve got a green thumb or not, our experts will help establish a garden that is just right for you, the wildlife, and your budget.

Design & installation: From overgrown and weedy to textural, beautiful wildlife gardens, our team of gardeners and licensed professional partners works with you to install exactly what your garden needs.

Maintenance: Monthly to quarterly maintenance includes weeding, light pruning, planting, hand watering, and soil amendment.

Garden refresh: If you’re throwing a party for the birds or just want your space transformed for the new season, we consult with you to determine your needs. Services may include weeding, light pruning, green waste disposal, planting, & soil amendment.

Water needs: Let's conserve water and save money with climate-adapted plants. Our team works with irrigation specialists to help install irrigation systems (if needed), and other water features including ponds and fountains.

Additions: If you want something new in a garden you already love, we can enhance your space with native plants sourced from local nurseries that are just right for your aesthetic and micro-climate.

Edibles/vegetable gardening: Did you know that many common vegetables and other food plants help our native pollinators? If you’d like to plant vegetables, fruits, or even wild edibles, we can advise on how to get started, the best place to locate your food garden, organic methods for healthy, pest-free plants, water-saving irrigation systems, and composting.

Indoors: We are happy to assess your indoor plants and their water, soil, & sunlight needs.

Living walls: Outdoor vertical gardens can be excellent habitats. We work with landscape contractors to install living walls, and our gardeners maintain them by replacing plants as needed and making irrigation adjustments.

We are delighted to discuss your needs. Please fill out this form or email garden@natureinthecity.org, and we will get back to you shortly!
