Help restore habitat and community at a gorgeous public garden stairway with countless birds and plant life located in the Buena Vista Park and Haight Ashbury neighborhoods. Meet at the bottom of Adah’s Stairway. Learn more about the Adah’s Stairway project here.
This workday happens every 4th Saturday of the month. Sign up on Meetup or drop in when you can.
Nature in the City is collaborating with local residents to enhance the wildlife potential for this park, a once forgotten place, that had become blighted by illegal dumping and graffiti and is now a tribute to local walking guru Adah Bakalinsky, author of the Stairway Walks in San Francisco.
These workdays aim to create a bird sanctuary for resident and migrating birds designed with the Cedar Waxwing (Bombycilla cedrorum) in mind. Cedar Waxwings are gorgeous birds that pass through San Francisco during spring and fall feeding on berries and fruits along the Pacific Flyway migration route.
