COP16 and San Francisco: Local Actions for Global Biodiversity Goals

Governments from around the world -- known as the "Conference of Parties" -- gathered in Cali, Colombia in October 2024. Convened by the United Nations, the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP16) emphasized the alignment of biodiversity and climate action, aiming to leverage nature-based solutions to tackle interconnected challenges.

Join our virtual event to learn what action San Francisco is taking to restore healthy ecosystems, and how the COP16 framework will provide inspiration and incentive to achieve these critical biodiversity and climate goals.

Peter Brastow and Rebecca Johnson attended COP16, focused on how these goals can be integrated into the ambitious actions proposed in San Francisco's Climate Action Plan and the ReimaginingSF Collaborative.
